11:55 a.m.:
On the elevator to breakfast in the hotel this morning, we saw Coach Stan & Sarah Kate. It was pretty humorous because we were just like, “That looks like Sarah Kate…” and all of a sudden her dad pops out and says, “Hey guys!” It scared us to death, but we laughed about it. We’re finally in North Carolina! We just made a pit stop in South of the Border for a restroom run (and some pictures!). We just finished watching the Tale of Desperaux (well actually I was listening to it because now I’m sitting in the passenger seat). Eric just had me put in a DVD with Thomas the Tank Engine episodes on it, so I’m getting out my iPod
. Oh we ended up eating dinner at Ruby Tuesday’s. The food and service were both really good! Then we spent the night at a hotel across the street .We’ve been driving since 9:45a.m.

I’m writing this as we’re changing time zones, hence there’s two times.
I haven’t really had time to write this week, so I’ll try to recap everything now. On Sunday, we enjoyed a parade in which all of the teams participating in the tournament walked around a horse track throwing candy and stuff. On Monday we played our first two pool games, followed by a birthday party at the pool for Annie. We tied the first pool game 5-5, but lost the second game 5-1. On Tuesday, we played our third (and final) pool game. Unfortunately, we lost 14-0. That night, the moms had a “moms’ night out,” so the dads took the kids to the beach for a while, and then we had dinner with Sarah Kate, Mel, Katherine, and their families (minus moms) at an Italian restaurant. On Wednesday, we lost our first bracket game 4-1, putting us in the losers’ bracket (or as I like to call it, the Second Chance Bracket). That night we had dinner with Lydia and her parents and Evan (Robin’s brother) and his mom. Thursday morning (8a.m. – bright and early!) we played our second game and had an amazing victory, coming out of a tie and winning 3-2! We followed the miraculous game with brunch, then came back to the fields to play our third bracket game. The girls tried their hardest, but unfortunately this game ended the participation in the World Series. The final score of that game was 5-1. We spent the rest of the day Thursday at the pool, followed by a team dinner (and lots of rain). Since we didn’t have any games on Friday, we spent the morning on the beach with Mel and her parents. Then we went to the fields to watch a few games. We spent the afternoon in the pool with Mel, Sarah Kate, Annie, and their families. That night we went to an authentic German restaurant with Sarah Kate, Mel, their families, and Annie. While there, we were joined by Taylor and her family. Once the live music started, we high-tailed it out of there and went to an ice cream shop around the corner for dessert. After ice cream, we went to a local carnival and went on the spinning balloon ride. When the ride was over, everyone said goodbye and wished each other safe journeys home. When we got back to our room in the condo that night, we started packing for the long journey home. This morning we finished packing, dropped Kelly and Dad off at the airport, and are now in the car driving home and watching The Incredibles. Read the rest of this entry »

8:17 a.m.:
We’re eating breakfast at the hotel we stopped at last night. I had a waffle, milk, and am currently drinking hot chocolate. It’s been a pretty uneventful morning so far. Eric and Tommy were messing around with the laundry… We’re now having a conversation about funny things small children say. The news is on the TV here. They’re talking about the oil spill. My five year old brother is way more concerned about the spill than most government officials out there. Step it up, people! Ooh now they’re doing a piece about Mel Gibson. In the words of my mother, “He’s so cute, but he’s such an idiot.”

6:20 p.m.:
We piled into the car at about 4:00 p.m. Mom in the front and the rest of us in the back. At 4:30 we dropped Kelly off at our dad’s office then Mom, Tommy, Eric, and I continued on to Florida. We finished watching Toy Story 2, and are currently watching Brother Bear 2 (lots of 2′s!
) We’ve already passed South of the Border and are currently driving along in South Carolina. We plan on eating dinner at around 7:00. Well, the movie’s getting intense, so I’m gonna go for now. Bye! Read the rest of this entry »

We (Eric, Mom, Tommy, and I) woke up to a 2 inch spider crawling up our wall. Fun! … After dealing with IT, we packed up out stuff. For breakfast, I had a bagel, 2 biscuits, 4 waffle strips, milk, and hot chocolate. Eric spilled milk all over my shirt, my gym shorts, and this notebook. Haley and Mac came to breakfast shortly after we did, and Kelly came in as Haley & Mac left. Elizabeth, Kylie, and Hannah came in @ 9:28a.m. 4 minutes l8r, Melanie & Jim Possible entered. Less than 30 sec. l8r, Makenna & Alyssa came in. Sometime after Makenna & Alyssa came in, Mac came back. For at least an hour, the girls sat together while I sat and talked with my parents, Coach Jane, and Jim Possible. At around 10 or 11 we checked out of the hotel. We came back to our house at 2 o’clock-ish and now I’m on my computer typing all this up.

Tommy and I were awake long before anyone else, but about half an hour l8r, we were all up. When we came to the “Breakfast Area” (that’s actually what it’s called – there’s a plaque on the door that says “Breakfast Area”), we were the first West Raleigh people there. My breakfast consisted of 2 chocolate muffins, 2 biscuits, milk, hot chocolate, bacon, and a bagel. Madison was the next WR person to come down, then (in order) Kelly, Haley, Makenna & Alyssa, Mac (Mackenzie in case u haven’t figured that out yet), Elizabeth, and Shelby. About 45 min. later, everybody met at the pool for about an hour. Half an hour later, the crew + Melanie & Jim Possible met @ Pizza Hut for lunch. The final score was 7-3; Chatham County won. We shipped over to Dairy Queen, then came back to the hotel and Mac, Melanie, Haley, Russel (Haley’s older brother), Kelly, Elizabeth, Hannah (Elizabeth’s cousin), Tommy, Kylie, Eric, and I went to the pool for around an hour or so, then went to a restaurant for dinner. At the restaurant, hush puppy fighting ensued; Hannah and I scared Haley, Mac, and Elizabeth by hiding Eric in the girls bathroom (what? – he’s only four years old – he’s allowed in there still); relationships began (lol Melanie + Tommy) (okay fine just kidding Melanie + Eric); Melanie & Jim Possible did the Infantry/Infant Tree skit; I was dared by Haley and Mac to go outside and around the restauran with a headband tied to my leg; and the waitresses dared to trust Tommy with a knife. We finally headed back to the hotel, and eventually fell asleep a little after 11 p.m. with Mom and I in the bed and Tommy & Eric on the couch.

The final score was 13-6; Pitt County won, but we put up a good fight. Mother, Tommy, Eric, and I retired to our room at around 10:36p.m. (both my mom and I had a watch on all weekend) Lights went out at 11:47, but we didn’t actually fall asleep until around midnight. The long break between coming back to the hotel & lights out was due to visits from our Dad, Kelly, Coach Jane, Elizabeth, Melanie, Makenna, and Alyssa (Makenna’s step-sister). When we finally fell asleep, Mother & Tommy were in the bed, and Eric & I were on the couch.
