Music Theatre Playlist…

So… I was supposed to blog a lot more this summer but I didn’t because I’ve been really busy, and now school’s starting…. I actually plan on just starting a new blog altogether once Annie’s over. (Why I’ve been busy: I was in the ensemble in All Shook Up for 4 weeks – that ended about a week ago – and I’m playing Cecille in Annie and that’s been going on since June and ends a week from today.)

Keeping you posted…

So yesterday I ran on the elliptical machine for 30 minutes and burned about 223 calories. Today, I’m hoping to improve that. Basically, the rest of my family is going to the pool, and since I spent all day there yesterday, I’m going to run until they get back. So I should be running for at least an hour. Originally, I was going to go with them, so I’m in my swimsuit. I think I’ll keep it on while I’m running as a motivation that I want to look good in a swimsuit by the end of the summer.
Eliminating junk food hasn’t been as successful as I’d hoped it would be, but I have cut down on it a lot. Hopefully once I start seeing results I’ll be more motivated to stop myself from eating stuff I know I shouldn’t be eating.
Well, I just heard the door shut, so I should probably get started with my running.

Graduation, Summer, Diets, and stuff of that nature

Sooo…….

We have 2 days left of school, and then Friday is GraduationCelebration!!! (lol since it’s not like an official Graduation we have to call it a “Celebration,” but it’s basically a graduation). I know it’s just 8th grade, and we’re only moving up to high school, but a lot of people are leaving next year so I’ll probably be crying afterwards. But that’s okay because then it will be……

SUMMER!!!! Personally, I’m very excited for this summer. I’m starting off the summer with a couple weeks of doing nothing (though I’ll probably be spending every day during those weeks on the treadmill or something like that…), and then I’m going to spend a week at a choral camp at ECU, which I’m very excited for. Also, starting in like mid-June, I’m going to be Cecille (one of the French maids) in Annie!! It’s with our church again, so a lot of the people from Fiddler On The Roof are in this cast, so it should be lots of fun again! Then, starting in mid-July, I’m going to be in the ensemble in All Shook Up!!!!!! I’m super excited about this one, especially since I originally wasn’t in the cast. But now I am, and I’m super excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I know I was pretty redundant vocabulary-wise, but I’m too brain-dead to really concentrate on making my life sound interesting ) The really good part about being in this show, though, is that I’m going to get lots of exercise from all the dancing (8 hours a day for 4 weeks!).

Lately, I’ve become really concerned with my weight. Especially in the last year, I’ve put on quite a lot of weight for a young teenager. I realize I’m not the only person going through this (I actually have friends who are going through similar issues), but I just really need to vent to somebody, and whenever I try to talk to my family, they tell me that I’m doing it to myself and only I can keep myself from gaining weight (which I know is true but I don’t need to hear it again and again), and when I try to talk to my friends they just tell me that I’m skinny and I don’t need to worry, but the truth is most of them are skinnier than I am, with abs and everything. I realize that since I’m really tall for my age, I will be a few pounds heavier than most of my friends, but if you compare me to the average weight of someone, say, two years older than me and closer to my height, it’s not pretty. And what doesn’t help is that my arms and everything from like my chest up is still thin, but everything from the chest down is all jiggle and fat. So like if I wear a loose tank top and jeans (which I do wear most days for this reason), you can’t really see the fat, which only adds to the “You’re not fat you’re skinny” comments. I’m not obese or anything but being a dancer (somewhat, anyways), it’s not pretty when you can see my legs jiggling while I’m dancing. It’s rather disgusting actually. I would really like to be able to wear shorts and fitted shirts and not feel super self-conscious all the time by the end of the summer, if not sooner. I’m going on a diet starting Saturday (my grandparents are here until then and I’d really rather not get them involved since I’m already having enough of a hard time getting my parents to understand why I want to diet). I’m not eating junk food, and except for breakfast I’m basically eating salads and vegetables. And I’m also going to be using WiiFit and our treadmill a ton and hopefully depending on how hot it is (it’s been scorching hot here lately) taking jogs around the neighborhood. If anybody has any other suggestions, if you could comment that would be great!!

 

A quick note…

I realize I haven’t been posting that often, but I only have 2 weeks left of school so I plan on posting a lot more over the summer.

Onto my quick note:

Today, we found out that my brother’s friend’s mother (who was also our neighbor) passed away from complications from a surgery she had on Friday. I know I normally don’t do serious posts like this, but I feel like the fact that this just came out of the blue needs to be mentioned. I certainly will be remembering this family in my prayers, and I know they would appreciate it if all of you would too!

So I got through my hectic week (and then some…), and I believe I am ready to actually start blogging a little bit. If I can think of anything to blog about. My life’s been so much of a blur lately, there really isn’t anything interesting to write. Um… I had a black eye a few weeks ago, but it’s gone now, and now I have a slightly-injured ankle…… umm……. we have a chorus concert coming up in two weeks – I’m excited for that. OH I might start taking Confirmation classes this summer! That super-excites me!

So yeah……. if anybody had any ideas for something I can post about, PLEASE comment haha

Dreams

So lately I’ve been thinking about dreams a lot. Like a couple days ago, my friend and I were talking about what we want to do after college. You know, dreams like that. And it kind of got me thinking… since I really haven’t posted anything in a while, I might as well share my dreams with you.

Basically, my dream job after college (in case you couldn’t figure this one out lol) would be a performer on broadway (my backup job is a Christian music artist or a voice/chorus teacher). Along with the dream job comes dream shows and dream roles. Some of my biggest dream roles would be Nina (In The Heights), Vanessa (In The Heights), Daniela (In The Heights), the Witch (Into The Woods), Ms. Hannigan (Annie), Star To Be (Annie), Eponine (Les Misèrables), Fantine (Les Mis), Yente (Fiddler On The Roof), Tzeitel (Fiddler), Penny (Hairspray), Rizzo (Grease!), and Mary Magdalene (Jesus Christ Superstar). Some dream shows would be In The Heights, Into The Woods, Fiddler On The Roof, Hairspray, Les Misérables, Grease!, Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent, West Side Story, The Wiz, 13, and Cats.

finally some free time

except not really cuz i’m working on a science project at the same time as i’m doing this…

so Into the Woods opens in 11 days… i would say we’re not quite ready, but the 8 hour rehearsal on saturday and the 5 hour rehearsal on sunday should fix that (it better fix it anyway…)

for LOS we’re doing Glee music… fun stuff    speaking of which, the new Glee episode comes out tonight!!

So lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m letting my life just kind of go by in front of my eyes, like I’m not really in it – I’m just watching it. I’ve been trying – I really have – to take back control of it, but I’m just not being able to. If you have any suggestions for how I can slow my life down – just a little bit – please don’t hesitate to tell me.

Seriously, only two things are staying constant in my life. God and music.

 

Hey there.

So i haven’t posted in a while…

um let’s see… another EDGE retreat a couple weeks ago (i’m too lazy to do a full post about it like i did last time), um LOS is amazing still, i have a new voice teacher, choir’s going pretty good, pianos still awesome, dance and acting – i can’t wait to move up in acting, oh and i got a call back for the school musical.  TONS of new quotes… i’ll add those later…

school’s going pretty good… tons of tests and projects & stuff, and a chorus concert on thursday…

Halloween is coming up! I’ve been stumped for a costume until a few days ago, when, for some unknown reason, I decided that I am being Jesus for Halloween. I guess, in part, I was inspired by the fact that we learned that Halloween is a Christian holiday at the EDGE retreat. Anyway, it’s gonna be pretty cool. What are you all being for Halloween (COMMENT)?

Oh and I still haven’t posted the pictures from Florida, but they will be here eventually.

Also, some corrections from the last post. Sr. Co. has 15 people – not 17. And the school musical is Into the Woods.
